Post subject:  New Luthier Tips du Jour video - Is it really this easy?

How about starting off the new year with a new Luthier Tips du Jour video? In this video I share some experiences where it really wasn't as easy as it looks. I am sure others have had similar experiences and invite comments about them.
This video as well as all my other videos are available via my website, http://www.obrienguitars.com/videos , LMI's website or on youtube.

The colt router... oh man. I laughed hard at that. I hate that thing with a passion. I bought a Dewalt 611 and almost threw the colt in the trash, just out of spite. Great video, Robbie.

Somebody needs to watch their $#@%&* language!

Just kidding. When my wife is not around, and things go wrong in the shop, I cut loose with some expletives that make the dogs run away.

Excellent video :D
I don't understand why the friendly plastic was applied on the bare wood...??
I once thought it would be a great idea to use this material to create spreaders with the exact shape, is this the same idea?

I can totally relate to the Colt base on/off hassle. That's exactly how it goes for me.

At least you don't have to fully disassemble the thing.... And THEN curse at it to get it apart.... See... Right there in the manual on page 34.... Right after you whack it with a 2x4 you have to curse at it in 3 languages and then it will come apart properly...

Wish there were a few out takes in there from the aged Brazilian Cardboard episode.... One of my favorites!

"The colt router... oh man. I laughed hard at that. I hate that thing with a passion"
"My Colt pissed me off everytime I used it."
"Ah, the colt! The trimmer I love to hate!"

Remember when the colt was touted as the cat's meow?

"Things base and vile, holding no quantity,
Love can transpose to form and dignity.
Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind,
And therefore is winged Cupid painted blind."

I Enjoyed the video, thanks Mr. OBrien!
